Own the Future Pitch Competition
“The Entrepreneurship Institute teamed up with the XULA Office of Career Services to host this competiton on Monday, February 10th. This was a fast-paced business competition for XULA students with entrepreneurial desires. Preceding the pitch was a networking opportunity for students, judges, and audience members. Five finalists pitched their original business idea to a panel of business experts and an audience of entrepreneurs, small business owners, potential investors, students, business and community leaders. Naomi Winston (pictured at the top) was the first place winner featuring her business, Revolutionary Hearts Industries, LLC. Following second place, Kyazia J. Felder (on the bottom left) with Being MissUnderstood and third, Shannen Lawson (on the bottom right) with The Fundamentals. First through third-place winners received monetary prizes for their pitch. Two additional awards at the pitch included, Audience Choice and Honorable Mention. Women of Business received Honorable Mention and Shannen Lawson received Audience Choice.”
